A Messeage From OurSpiritual LeaderDebbi Knowles |

When we think of celebrating Mother’s Day, what hopefully comes to mind are the warm feelings of a nurturing spirit, of kindness, patience, understanding, caring, compassion, firm consistence, and a sense of support. These are qualities of motherhood and of our Mother Earth. We can all celebrate Mother’s day as each and every one of us possess these same qualities. In Webster’s dictionary, a definition of mother is: “that which gives birth to something; is the origin or source of something; or nurtures in the manner of a mother.” We all have the ability to give birth to ideas, to nurture that idea, to help it develop, watch it grow and let it go. Dr. Mitsu Aoki wrote, “A song is born in the silence.” We are all songwriters in one form or another. We in Unity often pray, saying Father/Mother God or Mother/Father God or Spirit. In metaphysics this term is based on very ancient, theological insights and symbols which had their origins prehistorically. The masculine principle being active energy, wisdom and generating power, and the feminine being the more passive spirit and love. It is the MATRIX from these expressions that life energy can be generated. Both are necessary for existence, for manifestation, for human evolution. God is the Divine Source of the masculine/feminine principle. We relate to that source, hence the concept of Father/Mother God. Unity teaches that we have both the masculine and feminine aspects of God in each of us. This is the month we honor and celebrate the nurturing, birthing aspect of our being. Take time to honor your feminine side today. |
